Ingredients you need:
- Potatoes
- Vegetable oil
- Water
- Salt
for seasoning :
- 1 tablespoon of Paprika
- 1 tablespoon of Oregano
Recipe:
- Wash the potatoes before peeling to clean dust or mud
- Peel the potatoes with a potato peeler or a knife
- Wash the peeled potatoes
- Use a potato chip slicer to cut the potatoes into thin slices
- Soak the potato slices in water for 10 minutes to remove the starch
- Rinse the potato slices until the water is clear
- Place the potato slices on a serviette/ kitchen paper towel or kitchen cloth to soak excess water.
- Use another serviette/ kitchen paper towel or kitchen cloth to pat the potatoes to absorb water. This helps the crisps to become crunchy and not soggy.
- Meanwhile, heat vegetable oil until it is very hot
- Gently put the potato slices in vegetable oil
- Let them fry until there are no bubbles coming out, it shows the crisps are ready.
- Using an oil strainer, remove them from oil and place them on a serviette or kitchen paper towel to absorb excess oil as you let them cool.
- In a separate bowl, put 1 tablespoon of paprika and 1 teaspoon of salt and mix well
- In another separate bowl, put 1 tablespoon of oregano and 1 teaspoon of salt and mix well.
- Separate the crisps into two bowls to have different types of flavors
- In one bowl add the paprika mixture and the other one oregano mixture and mix well to season the crisps.
- Crisps are ready to serve you can serve them with your favorite cold drink. Bon appétit
