Ingredients you need:
- 3 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 tablespoon of nutmeg
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 and 1/2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Vegetable oil
Ingredients (for decoration):
- 1 cup of grated black chocolate
- 1 cup of grated white chocolate
- 2 tablespoons of heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons of sprinkles
Recipe:
- In a bowl put 1 cup of warm milk, 3 tablespoons of sugar stir well to dissolve the sugar. Add 1 tablespoon of yeast put it aside for 10 minutes.
- Add 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and mix well.
- Melt 2 and 1/2 tablespoons of butter or margarine and add it to the mixture.
- Add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir the mixture to blend in.
- In a separate bowl, sieve 3 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour.
- Put the all-purpose flour in the wet ingredients slowly as you mix well.
- After mixing the dough. Sprinkle all-purpose flour on a table and knead the dough.
- Put the dough in a container cover with a clear foil paper and place a clean cloth on top and leave the dough to rise for 1 hour.
- Dust your working space and rolling pin with all-purpose flour. Roll your dough 2 inches thick, using a donut cutter cut your dough.
- Dust your tray with all-purpose flour and place the donut dough on it.
- Roll the remaining dough into a ball. Dust your working space with all-purpose flour roll it again and cut another set of donut dough. Do that until you exhaust your dough.
- Using a deep frying pan, preheat your oil for about 5-10 minutes before frying the donuts in oil.
- Gently take your donut dough place it on your palm. Hold the sides and slide it in oil. Be gentle with the dough not to ruin the shape or widen the hole.
- Using an oil strainer turn the donuts to fry evenly and attain a nice golden brown colour.
- Place the donut on a rack to drain any excess oil.
- Let them cool for about 20-30 minutes before decorating.
- Grate 1 cup of black chocolate and white put in separate bowls
- Heat some water and place the bowls of chocolate in hot water to melt.
- Put 1 tablespoon of heavy cream/ butter/ margarine in dark chocolate while still in hot water and melt as your stir to blend in
- Put 1 tablespoon of heavy cream in white chocolate while still in hot water to melt and stir as the heavy cream and white chocolate blend in.
- Put 3 tablespoons of sprinkles in a bowl
- Set the 3 bowls on a table.
- Deep the donuts in dark chocolate place them on a plate and sprinkle sprinkles on top.
- Deep donuts in white chocolate using a spoon scoop dark chocolate to make a pattern on the donuts.
- After decorating your donuts place them on a plate serve it with a cup of tea/ coffee or a glass of juice. Enjoy your donuts.
