Pancakes are favourites for many. They are best served as a snack for breakfast, 4 o’clock tea with a hot cup of tea/ coffee, or a glass of juice. Scroll down and check out a quick recipe for making cinnamon pancakes.
Ingredients you need:
- 2 cups of self-raising flour (8 pancakes)
- 1 small cup of milk
- 1 tablespoon of ginger powder
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 eggs
- Water
- Vegetable oil
(alternatively you can use all-purpose flour and add 1 tablespoon of baking powder in place of self-raising flour)
Recipe:
- Sieve 2 cups of self-raising flour in a bowl.
- Add 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt to the bowl and mix.
- Beat 2 eggs and add them to the bowl.
- Add 1 cup of milk as you whisk the mixture.
- Mix the batter well until it is smooth add water as much as you need, the batter should not be too thin nor too thick.
- Add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of ginger to the batter and mix.
- Use a ladle to scoop the batter and pour it on a nonstick pan add a little oil before pouring the batter to fry the pancakes, under medium heat.
- Flip the pancake after it turns golden brown.
- Place them on a kitchen towel to soak any excess oil.
- Serve the pancakes while still hot and crunchy on the sides with a cup of tea/ coffee or a glass of juice and enjoy. Bon appétit!
