Churros is a popular snack in Spain and Mexico prepared through a deep frying method. It can be served for breakfast, lunch, or supper. You can have it as a side snack. It is mostly accompanied by a bowl of chocolate sauce. Scroll below to check out how to prepare churros, a quick, and easy recipe.
Ingredients you need:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 cup of water
- 3 tablespoons of butter/ margarine
- 2 eggs
Recipe:
- Put 3 tablespoons of butter or margarine in a cooking pot.
- Let it melt first under medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Mix the ingredients to blend in to form a paste.
- Add 1 cup of water and stir.
- Under low heat add 2 cups of all-purpose flour and mix the dough. Don’t let the dough become dry. Once the dough has already formed turn off the heat and put the dough in a bowl to cool for 5 minutes.
- Make a hole at the center, add 2 eggs in the middle, and mix it together with the dough.
- Put the dough in an icing bag.
- Heat your oil before deep frying.
- Using a pair of kitchen scissors, squeeze the dough from the icing bag and cut it into the size you want, in the hot oil for deep frying.
- Turn it and wait until it turns golden brown before removing it from the oil.
- Place them on a kitchen towel to soak off any excess oil.
