Crispy fried fish fillet

The crispy fried fish fillet is best served with rice, french fries, or mashed potatoes accompanied with your favourite sauce. This type of fish is good for those who love fillet. It is crispy, delicious and very easy to prepare.

Ingredients you need ( fillet and the garlic sauce as an accompaniment)

  • Fish fillet
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Water

Recipe:

  • Cut the fish into the pieces you would like.
  • Put 1 cup of all-purpose flour in a bowl/ plate and set it aside.
  • In another bowl put 1 cup of all-purpose flour, add 1 tablespoon of cornflour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda (it helps the fish turn into a nice golden brown colour after deep-frying), 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of black pepper ( it is good for seasoning), and 1 tablespoon of garam masala. Mix it. Add water slowly as you mix until the flour mixture is smooth. Add water until it’s smooth, not too thin but thick enough to coat the fish.
  • Finally, add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar (it helps in tenderizing the meat) and you will see bubbles, the reaction of baking soda, and vinegar.
  • Deep the fish in the first bowl of flour to give it the first coat.
  • Deep the fish in the flour mixture and beat the fish against the sides of the bowl to remove the excess mixture.
  • Deep the fish back in the first flour bowl to coat it with flour, then deep fry the fish under medium heat. You can use a non-stick pan and turn the fish using a pair of tongs to fry evenly and inside until it turns golden brown or you can use a deep frying pan. Don’t overcrowd the fish.
  • Place the fish fillet on a kitchen towel to soak off the excess oil.

Recipe for the garlic sauce:

  • Grate 2 cloves of garlic in a bowl, add 1 teaspoon of salt, add 2 tablespoons of sour cream, and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix it well.
  • Serve your fish fillet and garlic sauce to deep the fish as you eat. Yummy! Enjoy your meal. Bon appétit.
