Sourdough bread

Ingredients you need:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup of warm milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 egg

Recipe:

  • Put 1/2 cup of warm milk in a bowl, add 3 tablespoons of sugar, whisk the ingredients.
  • Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of dry yeast cover the bowl for about 10 minutes to activate the yeast
  • Sieve 2 cups of all-purpose flour in a separate bowl, mix it with 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Add the flour into the milk mixture, mix it well and knead the dough until it is soft. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to soften the dough then cover the dough and let it rise for a minimum of 1 hour
  • Divide the dough into two portions
  • Spread each dough with your fingers to stretch it then roll it back into an oval-shaped dough tuck the ends. Do that for the other dough as well
  • Using a brush apply some vegetable oil on your baking tin place the baking paper, place the dough on top
  • Cover the dough and let it rise for another 30 minutes
  • Using a sharp knife cut each dough on the sides not too deep, just slightly
  • In a small bowl, beat one egg add 1 tablespoon of water to make the egg wash
  • Apply the egg wash on each dough then sprinkle sesame seeds on top
  • Preheat your oven for about 5-10 minutes
  • Bake your sourdough bread for 25-30 minutes at 275F
  • Let your bread cool for about 45 minutes before slicing the bread
  • As the bread cools, brush it with vegetable oil
  • Slice your bread and serve it with a cup of tea, coffee, or drinking chocolate. Bon appĂ©tit!
