Chips masala

Are you a fan of spicy fries? Welcome, you are in the right place. Chips masala is made of fries (chips), spices, tomato paste, and ketchup. It can be served with your favourite stew, salad accompanied by a cold glass of juice, soda, or water. Scroll below to check out the chips masala recipe.

Ingredients you need:

  • Vegetable oil
  • Potatoes (depends on the number of people being served)
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon of chilli flakes ( you can add more if you are a fan of chilli)
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 4 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup of water

Recipe:

  • Peel potatoes, wash them and cut them into slender slices. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of salt on the sliced potatoes before deep frying.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan for about 10 minutes before deep frying your fries.
  • Deep fry the potatoes, turn the fries to fry evenly. Let them fry until they become crunchy.
  • Place them on a wire rack to drip oil then place paper towels in a bowl to soak any excess oil when you place the fries.
  • Chop 1 onion into small pieces grate 3 cloves of garlic and 1 small piece of ginger and put them on a pan/wok.
  • Fry them until the onions are translucent in colour. Add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and 1/4 cup of water. Mix well.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of black pepper, paprika, garam masala, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of chilli flakes. Stir and mix the spices well to blend in the paste.
  • Add 4 tablespoons of ketchup. Mix well until the paste is thick enough to coat the fries.
  • Put the fries in the pan/wok and mix gently not to mash the fries, do this under low heat.
  • Once they are fully coated turn off the heat, sprinkle coriander leaves on top, and serve chips masala. They are best served while hot. Serve it with your favourite stew, salad or vegetables. Enjoy your meal
