Cinnamon rolls

Are you looking for a sweet and delicious snack to bake? You are in the right place. Cinnamon rolls are best served with a cup of tea, drinking chocolate, coffee, or a glass of juice. You can have them for breakfast, 4 o’clock tea or as a snack.

Ingredients you:

  • 1/2 cup of warm milk
  • 1 tablespoon of dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 5 tablespoons of sugars
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon
  • Margarine
  • 2 tablespoons of oil

Recipe:

  • Pour 3/4 cup of warm milk in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of dry yeast, 1/2 cup of melted butter, and 2 eggs. Mix it and leave it for 10 minutes to puff.
  • In a separate bowl, put 3 cups of all-purpose flour (sieve the flour while putting in the bowl to trap air), add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix it.
  • Add the dry ingredients in the wet ingredients in bits as you mix the dough.
  • Knead the dough till it is soft. If it is sticky touch the dough with the other hand you were not kneading with if it doesn’t stick. Your dough is well mixed. Brush oil on the dough and cover it with a clear foil paper and place a kitchen towel on top. Leave it for a minimum of 1 hour to rise, but you can leave it longer than that.
  • Mix 4 tablespoons of sugar and 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon in a bowl and set it aside.
  • Dust your working area with all-purpose flour as well as the rolling pin to prevent the dough from sticking on the rolling pin and surface area while rolling.
  • Roll the dough in a rectangular shape, apply margarine on the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on the dough. Roll the dough from one end to the other. Cut the dough 2 inches thick (you can use your fingers to measure 2-3 fingers).
  • Use a brush and apply oil on the baking tray, place the cinnamon rolls, and cover it for 40 minutes to rise. ( Leave 2 inches apart to give it room to rise)
  • Preheat the oven for 5 minutes at 550F
  • Beat 1 egg in a bowl, use a brush to apply the egg on the cinnamon rolls before baking. It helps the cinnamon rolls have a nice golden brown colour.
  • Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes at 325F
  • Let it cool for 30 minutes before serving. You can now enjoy your cinnamon rolls. Bon appétit!
