Have you always wanted to roast a full chicken using an oven? It is very easy to do so. It requires a few ingredients to make it juicy and delicious. Scroll down to check out the recipe and ingredients you need.
Ingredients you need:
- A whole chicken
- 1 lemon
- 1 bulb of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of garam masala
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter
- Dried rosemary/ fresh rosemary
- 3 big potatoes or 4 medium ones
- 1 big carrot
Recipe:
- Check if there’s a gizzard or liver in the chicken and remove them
- Rinse your chicken under running water
- Dry it using a paper towel inside and out
- Melt 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter
- Brush the margarine or butter generously around the chicken
- Place the chicken on your baking tin
- In a small bowl, mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of garam masala.
- Sprinkle it in the chicken and around the chicken.
- Place the chicken on the breast facing up.
- Cut the lemon into 2 and put one in the chicken.
- Cut the garlic into two and put one half in the chicken.
- Peel 3 big potatoes and dice them
- Peel 1 big carrot and dice it
- Mix the carrots and the potatoes in a bowl, sprinkle vegetable oil and mixed spices on them, and mix
- Squeeze the other half lemon piece on the potatoes and mix
- Spread the potatoes and carrots evenly around the chicken and under the chicken and place the other half piece of garlic on top
- Sprinkle some more 1/2 teaspoon of salt on the chicken.
- Take a small thread and tie the thighs before baking
- Sprinkle dried rosemary or fresh rosemary around the chicken and put some in the chicken.
- Preheat your oven to 400F
- Bake the chicken for 90 minutes
- Let it cool for about 10-15 minutes.
- Brush the chicken with some oil to avoid drying or cover it foil paper as it cools
- Serve your chicken with your favorite dish. Bon appƩtit!
